What to do if your tampon gets stuck inside you?

Even if you have years of experience with period products, its still possible to end up with a stuck or forgotten tampon. The good news is, its mostly not an emergency and certainly there is no need to panic.

Signs of a stuck tampon:

  • Discolored or foul smelling discharge

  • Pain or itching

  • Fever

Here’s what you can do:

  • Wash your hands

  • Squat or sit on the toilet with feet propped up

  • Bear down a little, insert 1 or 2 fingers into vagina and try to feel the thread or tampon

If you cannot feel the thread or tampon, or are unsure whether you forgot a tampon, call your gynaecologist. We can easily help you and it literally takes 10 seconds to fish out a tampon. If you are a tampon user, make sure you change every 4-6 hours.
